Karnataka Deputy CM Inaugurates 54th WTCA Global Business Forum
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar inaugurated the 54th WTCA Global Business Forum organized by the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) in collaboration with the Bengaluru World Trade Center. This marks the first time the WTCA Global Business Forum is hosted in Karnataka and only the second time in India, with participation from delegates representing over 30 countries.
Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil outlined Karnataka's ambitious goal to become a $1 trillion economy by 2032 through sustained growth at 18%. Over the past five years, the state has seen a 62% increase in per capita income. Patil highlighted Karnataka's focus on partnering with technology firms to leverage Industry 4.0 technologies, driving automation, and developing AI-powered subscription products or services.
Patil also emphasized the state's commitment to creating a favorable environment for investors through its industrial policy (2020-25) offering multiple financial incentives. Additionally, a forthcoming clean mobility policy aims to position Karnataka as a premier destination for electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing.
Deputy CM Shivakumar noted the advantageous geopolitical position of India and urged collaboration to capitalize on the momentum. He invited participants to explore Bengaluru's possibilities, collaborate with the state, and celebrate the city's spirit. The event serves as a platform for networking and exploring business opportunities in Karnataka.
