IN-SPACe inaugurates Agnirva for Uniting Space Enthusiasts for collective contributions
IN-SPACe Chairman Dr. Pawan Goenka, Chairman, IN-SPACe inaugurated a space community called Agnirva.com  - a community of space enthusiasts. IN-SPACe has been established as a single window agency for all space sector activities of private entities and plays an important role in boosting the private space sector economy in India.
IN-SPACe in its endeavor to develop the space ecosystem in the country has inaugurated a space community platform called Agnirva. The idea of Agnirva.com is simple. Everyone wonders and dreams of space as children. And then, as they get older, they develop a set of professional skills that can seem, at first glance, divergent with those required by someone who wants to contribute to the space sector. Eventually, that little space dream goes into hibernation. Agnirva.com is a community of space enthusiasts that aims to help people rekindle those space dreams, together.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Pawan Goenka, Chairman, IN-SPACe said "I am very happy to see this launch. It could become not just a place to interact with other space enthusiasts, but to actively and collectively contribute input to key developments in the space sector, including, say, in policy making. Space community is a small community. I look forward to curated discussions around significant topics that could impact the space sector."
It is only when a basic level of functional space literacy becomes ubiquitous that people can imagine new ways of contributing to the space sector. It is an essential first step in ensuring the Prime Minister's stated vision of ensuring that there is no space between common man and space. Think of sports. Once you have a basic understanding of sports, its basic vocabulary, your interest in it grows gradually, whether you play it or just watch it. Sometimes, it turns into a passion that propels players, commentators, investors and several others into the field. This is what Agnirva aims to be for the space sector.
Dr.Vinod Kumar, Director PD, IN-SPACe added "In light of the space sector reforms, it is truly important to have open connections with people interested in space, and give a voice to their views. irrespective of whether their vocation or education is in the space sector or not. I would like to congratulate the members of the Agnirva space community. Every Indian now has an opportunity to work in the space vertical. And that is possible only with all of us coming together as a community. The new space ecosystem is being built by startups, academia and young professionals and we wish this community all the very best in becoming a thriving community for space sector"
Srikanth Chunduri, founder of Framewirk, a community program management company and of Agnirva.com concept said, "Everyone has a right to rekindle the dreams they had about space as children. Learn and Build are sections that I relate the most to. Two years back, when I started learning about the space sector, I realized that I don't even have a basic vocabulary or taxonomy of the space sector to even do an inquiry and self-learn. All of the internet can be of less utility, when you don't know what to look for. But, by interacting with entrepreneurs and visionaries in the space sector, I was able to learn and raise my knowledge from zero to one. I realized that without the first step of building a foundational vocabulary of the space sector, people cannot bring forth their functional skill sets to contribute to the sector.”
Agnirva.com aims to be a community where we help each other cross this barrier of foundational knowledge, get people from 0 to 1, together. Everyone with an interest in contributing to the space sector is invited to join the Agnirva.com community. We have a set of online and offline events lined up that could be of value to attendees.
