Air Liquide India has announced that a new manufacturing unit would be set up in Mathura in Uttar Pradesh with an investment of Rs 350 crores to further deepen its operational footprint. According to the company, this is an air separation unit that will make substantial production capacity available for Healthcare and Industrial Merchant activities in Kosi, Mathura. It can produce over 300 tonnes of liquid oxygen and medical oxygen per day, along with approximately 45 tonnes of liquid nitrogen and 12 tonnes of liquid argon per day, the statement added.
This newly inaugurated facility would service industrial gases supplies in Delhi Capital Territory, Western Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh geographies. More pointedly, medical-grade oxygen from this facility would be supplied directly to hospitals to meet the critical healthcare needs of the region.
Looking to the future, Air Liquide announced its ambitious sustainability objectives: the new unit will be fully powered with renewable energy by 2030. This together with underlining its commitment to technological advancement and environmental responsibility nurtures the hope that, apart from the simple fact that the new Mathura plant is an essential investment in cutting-edge infrastructure, the business will further work on developing technology and protecting the environment.
According to Benoît Renard, Managing Director of Air Liquide India, the plant would be contributing to their growth in the industrial and healthcare sectors geographically across the region. He expressed satisfaction that this would be an important step in its growth strategy, further underpinning the commitment to meet the rising demand for industrial gases in northern and western India.
Air Liquide India has continued to play the role of key supplier of industrial gases to hospitals and industries by leveraging its production facilities existing in the northern and western parts of this subcontinent nation to support essential services and industrial operations.
