India's Diplomatic Push Against Terror Post-Pahalgam Attack
  • Operation Sindoor global outreach
  • India’s anti-terror diplomacy
  • Parliamentary delegations on terror mission
  • Tokyo and UAE diplomatic push
In a significant diplomatic move following the recent Pahalgam attack, two delegations under India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ initiative have arrived in Tokyo and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of a broader five-nation tour. The mission aims to showcase India’s firm resolve against terrorism and seek global support in combating terror threats.
The delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde landed in the UAE, while another group headed by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha met with India’s Ambassador to Japan, Sibi George, at the Embassy of India in Tokyo.
The Tokyo delegation, led by Sanjay Kumar Jha, comprises a diverse group of parliamentarians across party lines, including Ambassador Mohan Kumar, BJP MPs Dr. Hemang Joshi, Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, and Pradan Baruah, along with CPI(M) MP John Brittas and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee. Aparajita Sarangi told News18 that their initial visit to the Indian Embassy was productive, engaging in detailed discussions about Japan’s perspectives and the implications of the Pahalgam attack.
Before departing for the UAE, Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde expressed the importance of this diplomatic outreach. “India and Pakistan gained independence at the same time, but while India has been advancing economically, Pakistan has unfortunately been focusing on terrorism”, he said. Shinde’s delegation will also visit Liberia, Congo, and Sierra Leone as part of the mission.
The UAE-bound team includes BJP MPs Bansuri Swaraj, Atul Garg, and Manan Kumar Mishra, BJD’s Sasmit Patra, IUML MP ET Mohammed Basheer, BJP leader SS Ahluwalia, and Former Ambassador Sujan Chinoy.
Bansuri Swaraj described the Pahalgam attack as 'a blow to the soul of India' and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the armed forces for their swift and strong response through Operation Sindoor. She emphasized, “Operation Sindoor is a new pledge of justice. PM Modi has made it clear that terror and talks cannot coexist. Blood and water won’t flow together; trade and terror cannot happen together. Any future talks will be contingent on the status of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir”.
This initiative is part of a massive diplomatic campaign involving seven parliamentary delegations visiting nearly three dozen countries worldwide. Through Operation Sindoor, India seeks to highlight its uncompromising stance against terrorism and rally international support in the wake of the Pahalgam attack.
