India's 10 Most Livable Cities



BANGALORE: India has seen tremendous development and is making its presence felt at a global front. Though the country has a number of the achievements tucked under the belt, it has only a select few cities that provide a better lifestyle. Let us take a look at the best cities in India, as compiled by the Annual Survey of India’s City-Systems 2014 conducted by Bangalore-based non-profit body, Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy. The cities were rated on four broad parameters: urban planning and design, urban capacities and resources, empowered and legitimate political representation, and transparency, accountability, and participation.

#10 Ahmadabad

The city of Gujarat ranks tenth in the list and is one of the largest city in the country. The city established itself as the home of a developing textile industry, and earned the nickname ‘Manchester of the East’. Ahmadabad is located on the banks of the river Sabarmati and caters well to all types of business activities.
