On account of the birth anniversary of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Vice President Kamala Harris and several other Indian Americans held a commemoration ceremony and asserted that the nation ought to continue fighting for the freedom to vote and all.

Former Baptist minister and social rights activist in the United States, Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. played a prominent role in the civil rights movement and is held in high esteem as a legend. Born in January 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia, he is highly regarded as a champion of civil rights for the African-American community, pushing for racial and economic justice and taking a firm stand for freedom.

Vice president Harris commented on the ceremony that it is a pivotal duty for the upcoming generations to continue fighting for their freedom to vote and freedom for all, on account of honoring the legacy of the man celebrated.
