India Will Be Part Of Anti-IS Operations Under UN Flag: Parrikar
BENGALURU: India will participate in operations against the Islamic State only if this is under the UN flag, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said.
"It is India's policy... If there is a UN resolution, India will participate in operations under the UN flag," Parrikar told reporters here after laying a wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate to commemorate Vijay Diwas.
"We can always share intelligence," he added.
The rising threat of Islamic States militants has been an issue of concern for India, and it also figured in the joint statement from India and US after Parrikar's visit where he met U.S. Defence Secretary Ashton Carter.
Parrikar has on earlier occasions expressed concern over IS trying to recruit youth from India.
