India to Witness More Monsoon Failures Due To Climate Change

Bangalore: The changing weather trend, with fewer rainy days is noticed by all, but can it be reasoned? An increased level of attention is being paid to the change in the amount of rainfall and the shortened monsoon season. The welfare of environment has become a priority of not just the professionals in this field but to people in all networks of work around the world. Combined they are constantly trying to reduce the ill effects caused to the nature.
As per a study, in the next 200 years there will be more monsoon failure which will most likely threaten food availability. This can only be limited and brought under control if governments are willing to take serious steps towards weather change, as reported by Reuters.
The study also states that between 2150 and 2200 the monsoon rains will fail in every fifth year if the global warming continues. The main cause for such severe weather condition is chiefly the burning of fossil fuels which has also led to the shift in the tropical air flows.
“Monsoon failure becomes much more frequent” as and when temperatures increases, said Anders Levermann, a professor of dynamics of the climate system and one of the authors at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, as reported by Reuters.
The “failure” is defined as the decrease in rainfall below 40 percent and 70 percent of the usual level, as informed by the researchers.
