India to Witness 15 Crore Pending Cases by 2040



It was pointed out by the report, “Due to the lack of necessary statistics, less number of Court Halls have been constructed in districts where number of pending matters were very high and non-availability of adequate number of Court Halls have resulted in hampering smooth dispensation of justice.”

In the big cities or metros the problems for expansion of infrastructure is difficult with the unavailability of space to build more courts. More accurate statistics are required for planning and in the absence of right number and information, proper establishment and expansion of courts are not feasible.

Everyone has the right to justice. However, there isn’t a time period as to how long it will take for it to be delivered. This does add to the exhaustion of the people caught in the turmoil. At the given pace in which the Indian Judicial System has been functioning justice is a long process testing patience. However, with the new data and more accurate information and statistics it can only be expected that the process will pick up with the required momentum.
