The Indian and US military forces and the QUAD nations are planning for an effective military exercise.  

With 2022 almost settled, the Indian military forces are deluging combat exercises before the annual conclusion to effectively reinforce military interoperability with friendly nations. It encompasses the Malabar quadrilateral naval wargames off Japan, infantry exercises with Australia and several other ASEAN countries, and high-altitude warfare drills in collaboration with the US.

As the QUAD nations are firmly intended to eradicate emerging coercions with regions, warships, submarines, fighters, aircraft, and helicopters are likely to be deployed by the countries to effectively accomplish the goal. The activity will occur between November 8-18, favoring top-notch support for the Malabar exercise.

Sources from the US's new national security strategy (NSS) have underlined that India's frontier threats are the state’s mere competitors with the intent and capability to reshape the international border. Therefore, as the leading democracy and defense partner globally, India is making deliberate collaborations with the US through bilateral and multilateral means in supporting the shared visions for a free and open Indo-Pacific region.

Alongside, AUKUS, a trilateral pact among the US, UK, and Australia, and the QUAD are paving efficient contributions to Canberra in acquiring nuclear submarines owing to its crucial significance in counter-attacking emerging competitors. Hence, India is all geared up for the major land exercise following the dispatch of the multi-role stealth frigate INS Shivalik, anti-submarine corvettes INS Kamorta, a P- BI long-range maritime patrol aircraft, and Japan’s International Fleet Review.

Yudh Abhyas- the battalion-level exercise between the Indian and US armies will be held at Auli in Uttarakhand between November 15 to December 2. It is a follow-up exercise post the Vajra Prahar drilling accumulated with elite special forces between the regions at Bakloh in Himachal Pradesh during August.

This Yudh Abhaya is wide employment by the battalion groups in the mountains in cold climates with heliborne elements and an integrated surveillance grid. This mass drilling activity incorporates an effective participation of nearly 350 soldiers among the QUAD nations. An enhanced partnership between the Indian and Australian military forces remarks the latter’s effective involvement in the Pitch Black air combat exercise at Darwin.

Similarly, the ASEAN countries like Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesian forces are making effective drill mergers into the Indian arena. Hopes pertain that this associative work will likely accelerate the capability of the nations for interoperability in the semi-desert terrain.
