Union Home Minister Amit Shah said India has made a strong, though slightly delayed, entry into the semiconductor sector and expressed confidence that the country will soon achieve self-reliance and begin exporting semiconductors. Addressing the Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit, Shah underlined the Centre’s commitment to building a robust semiconductor ecosystem and said the momentum created by recent policy initiatives would yield results in the near future.
Highlighting Madhya Pradesh as a key investment destination, Shah said the state’s geographical location and fertile land make it exceptionally attractive for investors. He remarked that even small investments in the state have the potential to generate substantial returns, reflecting the growing confidence of industry in Madhya Pradesh’s development trajectory. Emphasising balanced regional growth, he said that when industries are developed in line with regional strengths, they tend to be more sustainable and successful, benefiting both the public and investors alike.
During the event, Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for industrial projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore, marking the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Paying rich tributes to Vajpayee, he described him as a great orator, a sensitive poet, and a leader deeply committed to public welfare. Shah noted that Vajpayee remained an 'ajatashatru' in Indian politics, respected across party lines for his statesmanship and inclusive approach.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, and several senior leaders and officials were present at the summit. Shah praised Chief Minister Yadav for organising regional investment conferences and said such initiatives ensure equitable development across different parts of the state. He noted that regional balance in development helps maximise benefits for citizens while creating long-term confidence among investors.
Referring to the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit initiated during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shah said the event had set a benchmark for systematic and scientific investor outreach. He added that similar initiatives, when adapted to local strengths, can significantly accelerate economic growth and industrialisation. Concluding his address, Shah extended his best wishes to investors who have committed capital to Madhya Pradesh, expressing hope that the new ideas and projects launched at the summit would usher in a prosperous phase for the state.
