India Offers Limitless Opportunities for US Investors and Firms to Grow

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal mentioned that India has limitless opportunities for US investors and companies to grow in and with India.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated that there are limitless opportunities for US investors and companies to grow in and with India across sectors, and this is the appropriate period for them to improve their engagement with the country.

Relations between India and the US are at an all-time high. Along with strong bilateral relations, the countries are working closely under platforms such as Quad, 12-U2, IPEF, etc. On Monday, Goyal spoke at a roundtable hosted by the US-India Business Council (USIBS), a division of the US Chamber of Commerce, and Nasdaq. Goyal was referring to the Quad grouping of India, the US, Australia, and Japan, the 12-U2 grouping of India, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States, and the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity.

In a statement issued by the USIBC, Goyal reiterated that for US firms looking to expand their operational footprint, this is the right time to examine India and engage more with the country. From semiconductors to infrastructure, healthcare, manufacturing, innovation, renewables to defence, and many more, there are numerous opportunities. He states that he is confident that the US industry will make use of these opportunities to grow in and with India.

USIBC President Ambassador Atul Keshap and Executive Vice Chairman of Nasdaq and Interim Chair of USIBC’s Global Board of Directors Edward Knight underlined how India’s G20 presidency this year and the United States' focus on friend-shoring introduce a momentous opportunity to highlight the importance of the US-India economic partnership and a fertile backdrop to make landmark progress on US-India trade issues.

As the United States and other like-minded democracies seek to fortify their supply chains, India is an important friendshoring partner. India is taking an entrepreneurial approach to its trade partnerships and adopting an agenda encouraging India’s rise as a global export hub, an ambition the member companies support and appreciate.

Knight underlined the existing and potential future roles of US capital markets in powering India’s economic rise and in connecting India’s talent, startup ecosystem, and rapidly expanding industrial capacity with global capital.

Furthermore, he added that there is a tremendous opportunity to introduce the longstanding culture of innovation and entrepreneurship existing in India to the global capital markets and global investors. The United States looks forward to continuing its diplomatic relationship with the Indian Government as they seek ways to facilitate bilateral growth.
