The White House on Wednesday stated that the United States and India are significant partners. Karine Jean-Pierre, press secretary of the White House, expressed that the US sees India as their indispensable partner and that the US-India strategic partnership is based on a shared commitment to the development of an open and free Indo-Pacific region. Jean Pierre quoted the President's expression talking about the rule of law and the promotion of human freedom and dignity. She added that the states are confident in their relationship and will continue to stand together to defend the rules-based order, promote greater peace, prosperity, and security for people, and advance a free and open Indo-Pacific in the coming years. Moreover, the countries will together address the challenges faced across the globe.

India is a significant nation for the US’s Indo-Pacific strategy as India is a member of the Quad. The US sees India’s alignment with this policy as an essential component. The relationship between the two nations is far too strong and can withstand international pressure. Jean Pierre congratulated India on its 75 years of Independence earlier this month and reflected on the country's commitment to the Indo-Pacific strategy.

She mentioned that as the world’s oldest and largest democratic nations, India and Us will join hands together to provide security, freedom, opportunities, and dignity to the people. Jean Peirre also added that this year the countries are celebrating their remarkable diplomatic relationship. In the background of the Indo-pacific strategy, US and India will continue to enhance their partnership by highlighting their critical relationship in significant domains including defense, climate, vaccines, tech, and people-to-people connections.

The US had taken a similar opinion even earlier this year when the state department spokesperson, Ned Price, stated that India would be their critical partner as both nations share the vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
