HR Trends for 2012 Discussed at Siliconindia HR Summit Delhi

Delhi: HR resource strategy has grown and changed dramatically from functional strategies and capabilities strategies to today's result-oriented strategies. One of the major challenges that HR managers are going to face in the coming years would be managing the next generation. There are other trends such as globalisation, an aging workforce and decreasing loyalty of employees that are creating a radically different HR Environment and pushing companies to alter their HR Strategy.
SiliconIndia being the largest producer of special events and technology conferences organized 'Strategic HR Summit' on the February 24 in New Delhi, which gave a Great forum to interact and gain insights from a variety of HR leaders across different industries. Presentations by eminent VP HR, CEO, CPOs and Founders .
This HR Summit was featured by an excellent line-up of HR experts spanning across various industries and regional sectors, bringing with them a vast resource of experience. The coming together of like-minded HR experts to share ideas was very beneficial to HR practitioners.
The Event kick started with Inaugural keynote by Ajai Chowdhry-Founder HCL & Chairman HCL Infosystems addressing some of the vital issues concerning the HR strategies. Followed by which there was an session discussion delivered by Anil Munjal- Vice President HR Suzuki Motors on - Engaging Gen Y - Leadership and Organisation Culture - and discussed about How the Gen Y are shaped up in today's world. Harshvendra Soin provided an interesting prospective on "HR: Changing Paradigms - Healthcare and Beyond."
The First panels discussion titled 'Innovation in performance management' consisted of Sandeep Girotra, Head HR from Convergys remarked that the HR's should be innovative in differentiating employees basis performance and reward them accordingly. He said "More companies focusing on rating people on values (how) and not only performance (what)." He further added, "Compensation is an outcome of performance management process and should not be a driver of PM decision." The panel also featured Lipika Verma- Vice President HR GE Capital, Amitav Roy-Regional HR Head Jet Airways.
According to the speakers, the top management has to change its mindset so that changes are there across the organization.
"Talent management in challenging time" was the second panel for the day which was a really informative and interactive session by expert stalwart like P. Dwarakanath-Director Group Human Capital Max India who has almost four decade of experience was moderating the panel as he expressed various aspects about the talent management and how to tackle time. Anand Bhaskar-Vice President Human Resources, Sapient Corporation. Sanjay Mitra-Vice President HR Global logic was also the other panel member present at the event.
'How to maximize the potential of your workforce' was the last panel had panelists Anjali Upadhyay, Asst Vice President HR, DLF Utilities and Vijay Deshpande, Vice President & Head Human Resources, JK Tyre & Industries. The event ended with the session on 'Attrition Management: Retaining vs. fresh hiring' by Ashutosh Mishra, Vice President HR, Dish TV. The Strategic HR Summit offered a great opportunity for the leading HR experts to express their views regarding the various Human Resource issues.
