How U.S. Prevented a 'Secret' meet Between India, China



BANGALORE: High profile meetings are of a great substance and top countries use this platform as an opportunity to bridge gaps and resolve differences. But many obstacles may arise during this engagement, and here is one high profile instance that you would be surprised to know, as reported by TOI.

It was at the international conference on climate change in Copenhagen in December 2009, where U.S.  President Barack Obama had to force himself into a room where the then Chinese premier Wen Jiabao was reportedly holding a secret meeting with the then Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other leaders.

Adding substance to the incident in which the United States then secretary of state was involved, Hillary Clinton in her book 'Hard Choices' writes that the purpose of the secret meet by China was to completely isolate and sideline the United States by bringing together countries like India, Brazil and South Africa on its side.
