How Janardhan Reddy's Secretary Struck Gold?


Bangalore: Jailed mining baron G Janardhan Reddy’s secretary Mehfuz Ali Khan is no more an ordinary man as his bank account shows that the total transactions he made was an enormous Rs 103.09 core in just nine months. In addition he also owned 250 acres of land near Bangalore International Airport. The CBI probed the illegal mining activities of Reddy, and also exposed the story of Khan, as reported by Ajith Athrady for Deccan Herald.

Mehfuz Ali is presently under the judicial custody in connection with the illegal mining. He has once been private secretary to Reddy and managed all his affairs.

Khan a native of Guntakal in Andhra Pradesh and an engineering graduate was a friend of Suresh Babu, Kampli MLA, said a supplementary charge sheet filed by the central investigating agency in the CBI special court at Hyderabad recently. In 2007 through Babu, Khan got the job in Bramhani Industries, owned by Reddy and in 2008 Khan became close to Reddy.

Khan resigned from the Bramhani Industries in early 2009 and floated new company Devi Enterprises, a partnership with V Chandrashekar at Bellary in March 2009. Between 30th March 2009 and 13th December 2009, the company made a total transaction of Rs 103.09 crore.
