Havas India Welcomes John Thangaraj as Chief Strategy Officer for Creative Network
Havas India, a leading integrated marketing communications agency, has appointed John Thangaraj as the Chief Strategy Officer of Havas Creative Network India. In his new role, Thangaraj's responsibilities will encompass overseeing strategic initiatives across various entities under the Havas Creative Network India umbrella, including Havas Worldwide India (creative), Havas CX India (customer experience), Conran Design Mumbai (brand design), Ekino (technology), and Havas People India (employer branding).
Based out of Gurugram, Thangaraj will report directly to Rana Barua, Group CEO of Havas India, South East Asia, and North Asia (Japan & South Korea). Barua expressed enthusiasm about Thangaraj's appointment, highlighting the agency's remarkable growth and the need for strategic leadership to further propel its expansion.
"Havas Creative Network India has gained tremendous scale and size over the last six years", said Barua. "One of the agencies which has seen unprecedented growth is Havas Worldwide India. John will work closely with Anupama Ramaswamy and Kundan Joshee to further drive the growth of the agency. He will also collaborate with Geet Nazir, Prashant Tekwani, and Arindam Sengupta to strengthen the strategic vision".
Thangaraj, echoing Barua's sentiments, expressed his excitement about joining the Havas India team and emphasized the agency's deeply integrated approach. He articulated his commitment to leveraging this integration to create significant value for clients across the entire creative network.

Thangaraj brings a wealth of experience across various facets of marketing and advertising to his new role. His career journey, spanning over two decades, reflects his expertise in consumer research, marketing, advertising, and media. With a postgraduate degree in Marketing, Advertising, and Communication, Thangaraj commenced his professional journey in PR in 2002.
His foray into the advertising realm began in 2007 when he joined adidas, overseeing the launch and promotion of the adidas Originals brand in India. Subsequently, he held strategic planning roles at Rediffusion Y&R and MullenLowe Lintas Group, where he worked with renowned brands such as Bacardi, Danone, Tata Steel, Hindustan Times, Nestle, and HCL Technologies.
Thangaraj's tenure at Mindshare and FCB Group India further enriched his strategic acumen, where he led initiatives for clients including Pepsico, Lufthansa, GlaxoSmithKline, Google, Uber, Bata, Pernod Ricard, and Vistara.
