Hassel Free Ride This Festive Season With Suvidha Trains
BENGALURU: Festivals is the time when we plan to visit our friends and family. Going by this the Indian Railways has made a congestion free ride by launching Suvidha trains starting from July 15. The introduction of this new service will also make waiting for tickets a thing of the past. Furthermore, Indian Railways has also discontinued its 'Premium' trains which were introduced last year and will be replaced by Suvidha trains. The first Suvidha train will kick-start its services from Gorakhpur to Anand Vihar, reports, TOI.
While concessions will continue in all other trains, there will be no concessions offered for Suvidha service. The previous trains which were in peak demand during winter and summer during festivals like Dussehra and Holi will be identified and made easy for passengers to travel. The whole idea here is to cater only premium passengers in order to give them better service, assured tickets, and earn additional revenue in the process.
The railways will issue reservation only against cancellation of (RAC) tickets for Suvidha trains because the trains are only meant to serve short notice and also the advanced reservation period (ARP) has been cut down to a maximum of 30 days and a minimum of 10 days period. Currently it runs Duronto trains and Rajdhani’s too. The Suvidha trains will completely replace premium trains, which are already being run but with a premium fare.
Under this new changed structure, the Indian Railways will now run three types of Suvidha trains, full AC trains without stops charging a Rajdhani base fare and Tatkal charges; mixed service with no stops charging Duronto base fare and Tatkal charges; mixed service with some stops charging base fare of mail and express trains, and Tatkal charges.
