Green Pencil Foundation and Imperial Auto Industries Conclude 'Clean and Green Faridabad Mission' in five Government Schools
The Green Pencil Foundation, in collaboration with Imperial Auto Industries as its CSR partner, Jagran News as the media partner, and Radio Manav Rachna as the radio partner, successfully concluded the ‘Clean and Green Faridabad Mission’ in five Government Senior Secondary Schools across the city.
This months-long initiative aimed to instill sustainable habits among students, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and key national initiatives such as Swachh Bharat Mission, Vikshit Bharat Mission 2047, and the Prime Minister’s Solar Energy Subsidy Scheme.
A Two-Phase Approach to Sustainability Education
The program was strategically designed in two phases:
1. Theoretical Sessions – Students were educated about environmental sustainability, climate change, and responsible waste management.
2. Practical Implementation – Included hands-on training, tree plantation drives, and the distribution of sustainable alternatives to reduce plastic waste.
Participating Schools
The initiative was successfully implemented in the following schools:
Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 7E, Sihi, Faridabad
Government Senior Secondary School, New Industrial Township 1
Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 28
Government Senior Secondary School, Sehatpur
Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 21D
Corporate and Community Support Strengthen the Mission
The success of the initiative was driven by strong corporate and media support. Imperial Auto Industries played a pivotal role as the CSR partner, ensuring the smooth execution of the workshops and sustainability campaigns.
Additionally, leading media houses Jagran News and Punjab Kesari, with their vast readership and viewership across India, provided significant media coverage, amplifying the impact of the mission.
Gaurav Mishra, Co-founder of Green Pencil Foundation, emphasized the importance of strategic collaborations:
“Our mission wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of Jagran Connect. We also received extensive help from Radio Manav Rachna, which played a crucial role in spreading awareness through radio campaigns, engaging thousands of citizens in Faridabad.”
Meanwhile, DivyaKumari, CSR Manager at Imperial Auto Industries, highlighted the broader impact of the initiative:
“The ‘Clean and Green Faridabad Mission’ goes beyond awareness—it drives real action. By integrating climate education, advocacy, and implementation, we are taking tangible steps toward climate mitigation and adaptation.”
Tangible Impact on 1,200 Students
The ‘Clean and Green Faridabad Mission’ directly benefited 1,200 students, equipping them with knowledge and practical tools to embrace sustainability. The initiative’s impact was visible through active student participation in workshops, tree plantation drives, and the adoption of eco-friendly habits.
Mohammad Sabeel, Representative of Green Pencil Foundation, expressed the organization’s long-term vision:
“We want to take the Green Pencil Foundation and Imperial Auto Industries’ CSR partnership to the next step by expanding our climate and health initiatives to all 81 government schools in Faridabad. This will ensure a more widespread and lasting impact, transforming schools into sustainable learning environments.”
A Step Toward a Greener and Cleaner Future
Sandy Khanda, Founder of Green Pencil Foundation, reiterated how the initiative aligns with national and global sustainability goals:
“Our mission directly supports the UN SDGs and major Indian initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission and Vikshit Bharat Mission 2047. Additionally, through this project, we are reinforcing the Prime Minister’s Solar Energy Subsidy Scheme by encouraging students to adopt renewable energy solutions.”
Khanda further emphasized the importance of instilling sustainable practices in young minds:
“Sustainability should not be a choice; it should be a daily habit. To encourage this shift, we distributed metal water bottles to replace plastic ones, cloth bags to eliminate polythene usage, and cloth pads as an alternative to single-use plastic sanitary pads. Additionally, we planted 50 native trees across these five schools to create a greener learning environment.”
Community Recognition and Future Expansion Plans
The initiative received high praise from educators and community leaders. Ms. Seema Gautam, Principal of one of the participating schools, applauded the Green Pencil Foundation’s efforts:
“Green Pencil Foundation and Jagran Connect are addressing one of the most pressing environmental concerns affecting our community. Their commitment to sustainability and youth education is truly commendable.”
A formal vote of thanks was extended to the District Education Officer, District Administration, and District Police Commissioner of Faridabad for their support in executing the initiative successfully.
Looking ahead, Green Pencil Foundation aims to expand the initiative to all 81 government schools in Faridabad.

In the next phase, we plan to distribute bamboo toothbrushes and metal tiffins to further eliminate plastic waste from school premises. These efforts will bring us closer to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and building a greener future.”
A Movement for the Next Generation
The ‘Clean and Green Faridabad Mission’ is not just an environmental initiative—it is a movement that instills sustainable values in the next generation. By educating students and engaging communities, the project is paving the way for a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future for all.
With continued partnerships and collective action, the Green Pencil Foundation remains committed to transforming Faridabad into a model city for sustainability, setting an example for other regions across India.
