Greaves Cotton Appoints Parag Satpute as MD & Group CEO
Diversified engineering conglomerate Greaves Cotton Ltd appointed Parag Satpute as the company's new Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer. On Monday, it was announced that Satpute would succeed Arup Basu, who has left the company following a resignation from the position he held. The employment contract for Basu would formally terminate with business hours ending on May 9, 2025.
In his new position, Satpute will be tasked with steering the strategy and operations of significant business units such as Greaves Engineering, Greaves Retail, Greaves Technologies, and Excel Controlinkage Pvt Ltd. His main thrust will be in building these businesses and speeding up their growth trajectory.
Satpute comes with close to 30 years of diversified experience in the manufacturing and mobility industries. He is coming in from Bridgestone Mobility Solutions, where he was President of the fleet business. He also worked as the Managing Director of Bridgestone India.
Earlier in his professional life, Satpute was linked with international engineering company Sandvik for twenty years, finally becoming the Managing Director and Chairman of Board for its Indian operations.
Greaves Cotton anticipates Satpute's long leadership experience and industry know-how to contribute significantly towards fulfilling its strategic vision and long-term development.
