Government Of India Reaffirms Support For J&K's Industrial Growth
- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the ‘Investors Meet’ at Basohli, Kathua, organized by Department of Industries & Commerce and ICICI Bank.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha graced an 'Investors Meet', organized by Department of Industries and Commerce and ICICI Bank, at Basohli in Kathua. During his address, the Lieutenant Governor underscored that a huge infrastructure development and investor friendly policy has made J&K a promising investment hub of north India.
He assured that the Government of India is determined to provide all the possible assistance to augment J&K's Industrial growth. "Industries play a pivotal role in economic development, to create jobs and to increase income. Measures are afoot for extension of incentives under 'Central Sector Scheme for the Development of Industries' to further strengthen industrial growth in the UT of Jammu Kashmir. Our emphasis is on inclusive and sustainable industrial growth to make economic growth trickle down equally across society", the Lieutenant Governor added.

He further emphasized that the greatest beneficiaries of economic growth should be the poor and the villages. The Lieutenant Governor also spoke about the hospitality and industrial sectors growth potential of Basohli. He called for a dedicated campaign to develop skilled workforce and providing better market linkages for the local handicrafts and handloom products. He asked the Industry Department for initiating QR Coding for Basohli pashmina, handicrafts and paintings.
He also told that the Union Ministry of Textiles is also eager to set up one of its sub-centres at Basohli. Investors Meet was graced by business leaders, investors and industry chamber and association representatives from across the country.
Col (Retd) Mahan Singh, Chairman DDC Kathua and MLA Thakur Darshan Singh, Basohli; Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo; Principal Secretary Culture Brij Mohan Sharma; Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar; IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti; Director Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) J&K Shakti Kumar Pathak; Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma; Director Industries & Commerce Jammu Dr Arun Manhas and other senior officials were also present.
