Kirloskar Industries Limited (KIL) has announced the appointment of George Verghese as its Managing Director for a five-year term starting May 21, 2025, pending shareholder approval. The appointment marks a significant leadership transition for the company, with Verghese bringing in decades of cross-functional experience.
Verghese joined the Kirloskar Group in 2021 and is currently serving as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Chief of Staff at Kirloskar Oil Engines. He played a pivotal role in the company’s strategic turnaround and has been instrumental in driving key organizational transformations. Prior to joining the Kirloskar Group, Verghese held leadership roles at global and Indian companies including Dell, Reliance Communications, and Cummins, with a strong background in operations, HR, strategy, and marketing.
Commenting on the appointment, Atul Kirloskar, Chairman of the Board, said, “George has worked with various companies within the Group and has deep experience in business strategy, operational execution, leadership, HR transformation, marketing, and culture, all of which will be useful for Kirloskar Industries”.
Verghese holds a master’s degree in management from XLRI Jamshedpur and an engineering degree from the College of Engineering, Munnar. His appointment is expected to further strengthen KIL’s strategic direction and operational excellence.
