Brown-Forman Corporation, maker of Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey, has named Gaurav Sabharwal as its new managing director for India and South Asia.
Brown-Forman Corporation, the renowned maker of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whiskey, has appointed Gaurav Sabharwal as its new Managing Director for India and South Asia. Sabharwal, based in Gurgaon, will report directly to Eveline Albarracin, Vice President and Managing Director of Brown-Forman ANZPI (Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands), IMENA (India, Middle East, North Africa), and Turkiye.
Expressing his enthusiasm for his new role, Sabharwal emphasized his commitment to introducing Indian consumers to the world of American whiskeys. He also highlighted the significant opportunity presented by the recent acquisitions of Gin Mare and Diplomático, alongside the esteemed Woodford Reserve, to enhance the presence of premium brands from the global portfolio in India.
Prior to joining Brown-Forman, Sabharwal served in various commercial leadership roles at Diageo, accumulating over two decades of experience in the beverage and consumer goods industry. He succeeds Siddharth Wadia, who transitioned to the role of IMENA Region Head in 2019, leaving the position vacant since then.
Eveline Albarracin welcomed Sabharwal aboard, underscoring India and South Asia's status as key emerging markets for Brown-Forman Corporation. Sabharwal's extensive experience and expertise are expected to contribute significantly to the company's growth and success in the region.
