Software-as-a-service (SaaS) company Freshworks has welcomed Johanna Jackman as its new Chief People Officer (CPO). Jackman brings with her a wealth of experience from leading people teams at companies like Pure Storage, LinkedIn, and Microsoft. Notably, she held the position of Chief People Officer at Airtable during a hypergrowth phase, contributing significantly to scaling talent and fostering a strong culture to meet strategic business goals.
At Freshworks, Jackman will be to CEO Girish Mathrubootham and President Dennis Woodside. Her role will encompass overseeing the company’s global human resources strategy and operations, which includes responsibilities like HR business partnerships, talent acquisition, employee development, facilities, compensation and benefits, corporate social responsibility initiatives, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. “JJ is a great addition to the Freshworks team,” said Mathrubootham.
“Her successful track record at high-growth tech companies and her international expertise working with global teams make her the perfect fit to support our diverse employee base who drive the long-term success of our business.” Jackman’s appointment follows the departure announcements of Chief Human Resources Officer Suman Gopalan and Chief Marketing Officer Stacey Epstein earlier in the month. Freshworks is in the process of evaluating potential candidates for the CMO position and has chosen a new CHRO, set to commence by the end of August. Amid these changes, Freshworks had a 19% year-on-year increase in revenue, reaching $145.1 million in the second quarter ending June.
The company has raised its full-year 2023 financial outlook midpoint for adjusted operating profit to $28 million and expects third-quarter revenue to fall between $149 million and $151.5 million.“ Freshworks has incredible potential to become a multi-billion dollar software company, and I’m excited to join the leadership team to elevate its already strong company culture and include our current and future employees in the journey as we scale,” added Jackman. “This is a special place a globally diverse organization which in itself provides a massive benefit to our employees and customers alike.”
