Freelance in Goa: Myth or Reality?
Goa is the smallest state in southwest India. Numerous travelers return there and stay "in winter", some of them move there for eternity. Inexepnsive flats, modest transportation, tasty fish and organic products that don't hit your pocket - this makes go out traveling. We conversed with the individuals who work "remotely" - about non-weekend days at the coastline.
Opportunities, life by the ocean and harmony are the things that are being drawn in most independent travelers.
Particularly this thought is close to specialists: just gather a bag and in 7 hours you are drinking newly crushed juice with a PC on the sea shore. Considering different points of interest (great quality liquor, miles of sea shores with coconut palms and simple visa getting), Goa can undoubtedly be known as a genuinely spending hotel.
The online market in India is one of the fastest growing on the planet, but just as technologically advanced and suitable for work state Goa?
Goa freelance
On the Internet you can find many stories about freelance and business in Goa, but only a small part of them are positive. Mostly, they often complain about "dancing with a tambourine" in an attempt to find a connection, loss of working time and confusing slowness of others. However, there are also those who were able to get some privacy with nature without losing their effectiveness.
The pleasures of life in Goa are not so much the climate as the inner feeling of spiritual comfort, freedom of action, lack of business and concerns, the disposition of others around you.
The feedback of a freelance programmer
We lived in Arambol, the Internet was only via modem, bad quality. More or less caught Wi-Fi in a cafe, but with interruptions. The best Internet that I met in Goa was in one of the houses of Siolim (4-5 Mbps, wired), where I came to work to repair the laptop. Remotely I maintained someone else's self-written website on php for $100 per month. To do this I needed my own laptop, PhpStorm (development program) and Internet access. We also made menus in Russian and English for the local cafe, for this we were fed at a large discount.
The advantages of life in Goa: not so much the climate, as the inner feeling of spiritual comfort, freedom of action, lack of business and worries, the location of others around you. And also pleases the cheapness of delicious fruits and vegetables.
Technological perception also changes - you start to appreciate the downloaded megabytes, you understand the minimum necessary for remote work.In Europe and the United States, of course, it is much easier with the Internet, but the money earned in this way is enough for a shorter period of time. For example, a two-bedroom apartment cost us 250$, a bike cost 70$.
Minuses: if you do not find yourself, you will quickly get bored with this "paradise". In addition, it is difficult to work remotely there, you are too relaxed. And if your laptop breaks down, it can turn into a serious problem.
