Eric Garcetti Emphasizes the Growth of US-India Relations

The US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti states the significance of the US-India relationship in developing both countries as a robust economy.              

Eric Garcetti, the US Ambassador to India, remarked that India and the US share a relationship based on a common desire for stronger economies and a peaceful Indo-Pacific region. Together as a robust force, the two nations have tackled numerous challenges, strengthening defense ties, and making collaborative efforts in varied sectors like space and technology.

Mr. Garcetti underlined the significance to establish stability in the neighborhood while supporting crucial values like freedom of movement and commerce in the Indo-Pacific region. Similarly, electronic modes of payments are empowering Indian people’s lives, wherein, cultivating technology in the human space opens up to formidable opportunities. Mr. Garcetti explains that there is no room for a contrast between India and the US with other nations, emphasizing the diplomacy between both nations.

Mr. Garcetti also addressed the prevailing issues regarding the backlog of visas for Indian students, assuring a critical improvement to reduce wait time, and nurturing an increase in the number of visas that will be processed in 2023. He added that President Biden is focused on reducing the visa times in the upcoming period for student and first-time visitors to the state. One notable improvement was bringing down the waiting time for visas by nearly 60 percent in the current scenario.

Mr. Garcetti stated that Indian students play an ideal role in the American economy like the Indian economy. He quotes that most well-established organizations in the US are guided by Indian-born CEOs, and, states the significance that Indian students play in taming the American economy for a better level. The US has risen as the top trading partner of India in the current fiscal year, surpassing over 100 million USD.
