Easier Access For Indians: 'Modi Raised Issue With Obama'
New Delhi: Prime minister raised the matter concerning the H1-B visa with the U.S. President Barrack Obama. And emphasiszed on the issue of providing access to Indian professionals in United States. “The U.S. President noted India’s concerns in this regard,” V K Singh, Minister of State in the Ministry of External Affairs said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had raised the importance of ensuring easier access for Indian professionals to United States, during the U.S. President Barack Obama's visit to India in January, the government said.
The U.S. President had noted India's concerns in this regard, Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh said in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha.
Singh also said that as per information available, the U.S. authorities approved 1,68,367 H1B visas for Indian citizens in 2012.
