Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman Appointed as CEO of Anusandhan National Research Foundation
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position of Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), held temporarily by Secretary Department of Science and Technology (DST) Professor Abhay Karandikar, has been taken over by Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, who has been appointed CEO.
With this, Dr. Shivkumar takes over the role of CEO of ANRF that seeds, nurtures and propagates research and development (R&D) and inculcates a culture of research and innovation across India's universities, colleges, research centers, and R&D labs.
Dr. Shivkumar who previously served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Energy Industry, Asia at Microsoft is a Distinguished Alumnus Awardee of IIT Madras & Ohio State University (2021). He is also an IEEE Fellow (2010), Indian National Academy of Engineering Fellow (2015), ACM Distinguished Scientist (2010), Microsoft Gold Club (2024) and Technology Review TR100 young innovator (1999).
ANRF shall serve as a higher apex body to accord top-level direction of scientific inquiry in the nation based on guidelines of the National Education Policy (NEP).
ANRF will create industry, academic institution, and government departmental/research organization coordination, and set up an interface mechanism for contribution and involvement by industries and State governments, as well as by scientific and line ministries.
