Delta, a global leader in power management and IoT-based smart green solutions, has officially inaugurated its new Global Research & Development (R&D) Centre and India Headquarters in Bengaluru. The new facility, located in the Bommasandra Industrial Area, spans 61,000 square meters and has the capacity to accommodate up to 3,000 professionals in management, R&D, and engineering roles. This strategic expansion reflects Delta's commitment to deepening its presence in the Indian market.
The company plans to employ up to 750 R&D engineers over the next three years to enhance its expertise in developing energy-saving, high-voltage power management solutions. These solutions will cater to various industries, including telecom, data centers, electric vehicle (EV) charging, energy storage, and the rapidly growing fields of IoT and AI-related software. The expansion will help Delta meet the growing demand for smart energy solutions in both the Indian and global markets.
Niranjan Nayak, Managing Director of Delta Electronics India, emphasized the company's vision for the future during the inauguration. "This new R&D centre reflects our vision for the future. It is designed to be a hub for innovation, focusing on the latest advancements in power electronics while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability. We believe this facility will be a cornerstone of our growth strategy, enabling us to meet the evolving needs of our customers".
Founded in 1971 and listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, Delta has established itself as a global leader in switching power supplies and thermal management solutions. In India, the company operates four manufacturing facilities in Rudrapur, Gurgaon, and Krishnagiri, as well as two R&D centers in Gurgaon and Bengaluru. With fourteen regional offices across the country, Delta continues to expand its footprint in the Indian market.
The Bengaluru facility also features a state-of-the-art 480sqm showroom showcasing Delta's cutting-edge IoT-based smart green solutions. Notably, the new HQ is powered by a 593kW solar PV system that generates over 650,000 kWh of electricity annually. This system is supported by Delta’s 100kW PV inverters, which achieve peak energy efficiency of up to 99%. The facility also includes a 300kW data center with an impressive power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.4, utilizing Delta’s high-efficiency uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and precision cooling systems.
Benjamin Lin, President of Delta Electronics India, remarked, "Our new India HQs building and Bengaluru R&D centre not only enhance Delta’s capabilities in India but also strengthen our global footprint. This milestone underscores our investment in India's growing technological landscape and aligns with our ‘India for India’ talent initiative, fostering local innovation to serve global customers".
