Deloitte India launches Digital Public Infrastructure Playbook
Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP has introduced a comprehensive guide called the "Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) playbook for nations". This playbook is designed to assist countries in comprehending, implementing, and leveraging the potential of DPIs based on their specific digital readiness. The launch took place during Deloitte India’s Government Summit "Aarohana: Growth with Impact", with the participation of Dr. Pramod Varma, CTO EkStep Foundation and Chief Architect India Stack; Shankar Maruwara, CEO and Co-Founder at EkStep; Romal Shetty, CEO of Deloitte South Asia; and global leaders from Deloitte's Government and Public Services sector.
The introduction of the DPI playbook coincides with a pivotal moment in the world, particularly in India, as it stands on the brink of a technological transformation. With unprecedented technological progress, nations are experiencing a significant shift in how societies, businesses, citizens, and governments function, communicate, and evolve. This playbook offers a framework to aid countries in comprehending, executing, and leveraging the potential of DPIs to expedite digital transformation. It also addresses funding and outreach strategies, underscoring the importance of securing financial support and involving the right set of stakeholders and change managers. Serving as a rallying call, the DPI playbook urges policymakers and stakeholders who are endeavouring to outline a DPI roadmap for their countries, providing a sustainable, cost-effective strategy for digital transformation while addressing security and scalability concerns.
Offering his perspective on the playbook, NSN Murty, Partner and Leader of Government and Public Services Consulting at Deloitte India, stated, "This marks India's technological era. We take pride in India taking the lead in the DPI narrative through practical examples like Aadhar and UPI. The playbook, expertly crafted with a comprehensive approach, aims to empower nations with the tools and knowledge necessary to navigate the intricate landscape of digital transformation". Murty further commented, "Designed to be a trusted resource, the DPI playbook is poised to serve as a valuable companion for government leaders, decision-makers at various levels, and digital advocates, providing insights to promote collaboration and establish effective governance structures".
