As we all know, Co-Win is a web portal for COVID-19 vaccination registration, controlled and managed by India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The application software was opened in January 2021 when India started one of the most extensive vaccination initiatives globally. The application has often been recognized as the backbone technology of the vaccination drive in the country. While some have also scrutinized the massive dependency of the digital platform, it has helped the digitally literate people of the country to obtain the government's services.

Co-Win started offering COVID-19 vaccination On 16 January 2021 for Frontline Workers in the country. On 1 March 2021, the platform to provide vaccination to all above the age of 60, citizens between the ages of 45 and 60 with one or more qualifying comorbidities, and any health care or frontline worker who did not receive a dose during the first phase. From 1 April 2021, eligibility was extended to all residents over the age of 45. Registration for the next phase began on 28 April 2021 for 1 May 2021, extending eligibility to all residents over the age of 18.

Trustworthy proof helps people to establish their vaccination. it allows people to prove that they have been vaccinated, expediting the normalcy in the post-pandemic globalized world as they will not have to carry fragile pieces of paper.

Modi said experience shows that no nation can solve a challenge like this pandemic in isolation, no matter how powerful and prosperous. Noting that technology is integral to India's fight against COVID-19, Modi said luckily, and the software is one area in which there are no resource constraints. "That's why we made our COVID tracing and tracking App open source as soon as it was technically feasible."

This pandemic has made many people realize the fundamental truth of this philosophy, "That's why, our technology platform for COVID vaccination - the platform we call Co-Win - is being prepared to be made open source so (that) it will be available in any and all countries,."

Approximately 50 nations are demanded to seek information about the platform. The nations with a registered interest in the forum include Canada, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Nigeria, Uganda, Vietnam, Iraq, Dominican Republic, the UAE, and others. 

In his address, Modi noted that India had administered 350 million COVID-19 vaccines, including nine million people vaccinated in one day. The digital approach also supports tracking the usage of vaccination and minimizes wastage. With nearly 200 million users, the "Aarogya Setu" app is a readily available package for developers.

The government has determined to grant the open-source platform to other countries to help them prepare their vaccination drive or incorporate some of the features with their existing infrastructure. Dr. R S Sharma, the National Health Authority (NHA) CEO, said, The prime minister has instructed officials to create an open-source version of the forum and give it to any nation that wants it for free.

Co-win, India's technological platform, is initiating its COVID-19 vaccination drive as a "digital public good" to the world, asserting that it has been committed to bestowing its expertise and resources with the global community in combating the pandemic. 

The modified version of the government's Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network, built to be a cloud-based IT solution for preparation, coordinating the giant vaccination process, and retrieve the real-time data on it.

For booking a vaccination slot, residents can download the Co-Win app and register themselves on the portal. After an individual gets vaccinated, a certificate assuring that they have been successfully vaccinated is also issued on the app.

There is a mobile application and a website for receivers and officials involved in the vaccination process for Co-Win. On Co-Win, one can reserve a vaccination slot by registering with their mobile number. Earlier registration on Cowin.gov.in is no longer required. However, registration on this site is required to keep track of all vaccinations.

Paytm introduced vaccination slots for its users

The vaccination slot booking feature on Paytm adds to the app's vaccine finder service that helps users find slots for getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Paytm users can search, discover, and book their vaccination slots for Covaxin and Covishield at the nearest center through the Paytm app.

Download a certificate

One can download the vaccination certificate following immunization from one's Co-Win account, which will become a crucial travel document in the coming days. The Ministry of External Affairs expects other countries to recognize the Co-Win certificate as genuine proof of immunization.

Certificate editing

Any mistake in the vaccine certificate can now be edited using the platform.

Passport details linking

This portal lets users link their passport to their Covid-19 immunization certificate for residents who need to travel overseas.

Certificate merging

Recipients who received two doses enrolling from two different phone lines and two different certificates can now merge the two certificates.
