Oil marketing companies have given a Rs 41 rebate on 19-kg commercial Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders from April 1. The reduction will ease the burden of industries and businesses dependent on cooking fuel.
Domestic LPG cylinders utilized for home cooking are unchanged in this revision, an ANI report added.
The retail sale price of the commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi is now Rs 1,762. In Mumbai, the price is Rs 1,714.50, while in Kolkata it stands at Rs 1,872 and in Chennai, it is Rs 1,924.50.
The earlier revisions were on 1 March, when commercial LPG prices were raised by Rs 6 following a cut of Rs 7 in February. Oil companies update the prices of commercial LPG cylinders from time to time, depending on various factors, such as international crude oil prices.
Earlier, prices were raised by Rs 62 in December 2024.
The latest revision in fuel prices is a reaction to fluctuations in the international energy market on the back of volatility in global oil prices in recent times.
The price revision will find immediate relief for restaurants, hotels, and other commercial outlets that utilize such LPG cylinders for day-to-day operations. It will also bring relief to small enterprises that are heavily dependent on commercial LPG for their operations.
Prices of LPG differ between states, based on local taxes as well as transportation charges. Although the Rs 41 cut may not appear significant, it will bring cost savings to commercial consumers in the country.
