Flipkart-owned online travel platform Cleartrip has announced the appointment of Manoj Awasthi as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The move is seen as a strategic step to strengthen Cleartrip’s leadership and accelerate its technology transformation.
In his new role, Awasthi will head the technology charter, overseeing engineering, data, and infrastructure, with a focus on building a more scalable and user-centric platform. His appointment comes as Cleartrip aims to modernize its technology stack and enable faster innovation in the online travel space.
Awasthi brings with him extensive experience in leading large product and engineering teams. Prior to joining Cleartrip, he served as the Chief Technology and Product Officer at Julo. Commenting on his new role, Awasthi said, “At Cleartrip, I look forward to modernising the tech stack, enabling faster experimentation, and building systems that make travel planning simpler for users”.
Ramesh Gururaja, Senior Vice President, Consumer Products & Growth at Flipkart, welcomed the appointment, stating it marks a significant step toward building a future-ready leadership team with strong cross-functional capabilities.
Flipkart acquired a majority stake in Cleartrip in April 2021, aiming to strengthen its presence in the fast-growing online travel market.
