New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has finally decided to divert its attention towards Sidiq batcha's mystery of death. Sidiq batch, who was 47, was found hanging at his house with a suicide note. In the suicide note he revealed that he blamed nobody for his death and was embarrassed by raids and media limelight over 2G scam.
Sidiq batcha was a businessman in Tamil Nadu and was known for his close association with Raja, the former telecom Minister. Batcha was interrogated by CBI twice in December 2010 for his connection with 2g scam because of his proximity with A. Raja.
Batcha was the managing director of a real estate firm called Greenhouse Promoters. Raja's family members are reported to have stakes in that firm. Raja's wife was a director in the firm for some time .Police suspect the firm was used to route any bribes paid for favors.
The Chennai police suspected Batcha death as suicide. However CBI suspected some kind of foul play as Batcha was a key witness to the scam and was considering turning approver.
The CBI decision to probe into the mysterious death of Sadiq Batcha comes at the time when the CBI is about to file a charge sheet against A. Raja in Delhi High Court. The CBI is supposed to file a charge sheet of about 80,000 pages on April 2 before the court.
