Leading telecom firm Bharti Airtel has increased its stake in the SD-WAN startup, Lavelle Networks, obtaining an additional 20.6% ownership. With this transaction, Bharti Airtel’s total stake in Lavelle Networks will expand to 45.6%. The acquisition will be carried out in multiple tranches, as per the company’s stock filing. Bharti Airtel made this move under its Startup Accelerator Program, which aims to provide support to early-stage Indian tech startups.
Lavelle Networks, founded in 2015, specializes in network software and operates in the realm of cloud-powered technology. The company offers solutions for optimizing, securing, and managing enterprise branch networks. Bharti Airtel’s decision to increase its stake in Lavelle Networks aligns with its strategy of nurturing and investing in promising Indian startups. The telecom giant has been actively participating in the growth of the country’s startup ecosystem.
Bharti Airtel’s share price closed 0.68% higher at 891.90 per share on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The market response reflects confidence in the company’s strategic investment moves and its commitment to fostering innovation in the tech industry.
