Puja Thakur was the first lady officer from Air Force Headquarters o lead the Inter-Service Guard of Honour for President Obama. Puja is in services since 2000 and presently belongs to the administrative branch of ‘Disha’.  Later in an interview with PTI, Puja said, "I would say that we are first officers, be it male or female. We are just the same. We are given the same kind of training. We are equals."

Sania Mirza seeks world no. 1 rank

Sania Mirza created history as the first Indian female tennis player to achieve number one rank in doubles. Sania shared the achievement with Swiss tennis player Martina Hingis, while playing for WTA Family Circle Cup. Other Indians who have achieved the same rank includes Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupati.
