Bangalore: The CEO Conclave at Bangalore was an excellent platform for CEOs to meet and discuss the challenges and opportunities as a leader they are facing, which can inspire and give direction to the leaders of tomorrow. After a phenomenal success of Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai editions, this time CEO's from different sectors gathered to share their views at the ‘CEO Conclave' conducted by Siliconindia on February 24, 2012 in Bangalore.
The event started off with a keynote session by S.D.Shibulal, CEO & MD, Infosys on the topic, ‘The Changing Role of the CEO’. He emphasized on Business leaders critical role. He said ‘Business leaders have a critical role to play in driving the performance of an organization and building trust. They also have a moral responsibility to fulfill the organization’s implicit social contract of giving back to the society in which they operate. They have to earn their right to operate. Finally, we need to work together to build a future where opportunities are abundant and growth is inclusive. We need to create a world that is better than, if not as good as the one we inherited’

Most of the business leaders can take only pressure before their performance slides. Yet some CEOs deliver their greatest successes when times get toughest. What makes one "Better Under Pressure"? The Panelists for the topic were Tridib Roy Chowdhury, Sr.Director, Adobe Systems, Anand Sudarshan, MD&CEO, Manipal Global Education Services and Pradip K. Dutta, Corporate VP & MD, Synopsys . Anand was of the thought that ‘Leadership is distinct from professional managership; and can manifest at any level of an organisation. Leadership gets driven by consistency, personal integrity (to core values), ability to be able to stand up and be counted when it matters, and strong communication skills.’
The event was followed by the closing keynote, which was addressed by S. Janakiraman, Group President and CTO, Product Engineering Services, MindTree. He presented on the topic “Leadership through Innovation”. He said, ‘India now has all the components of ecosystem for innovation in place and itself is a big market to leverage for product and service innovation. Cloud/ Mobile/ Web brings a level playing field to innovate from anywhere and deliver to any place. We need to leverage that’.

The CEO Conclave was a forum for senior leaders like CEOs, Managing Directors, Presidents, VPs, and Directors to engage in clear and focused discussion with their peers about their leadership tactics and experiences in a relaxed and vibrant environment. It helped in networking and the conversations between business leaders that helped them to validate leadership related issues in different manners. The best part of the conclave was that it was a focused meeting for the top decision makers and all of the discussions and topics were relevant and were of interest. The size of the audience at the summit encouraged some excellent dialogue and networking by the speakers. The event got over with cocktail followed by dinner.
