Amazon Web Services (AWS) has named Sriram Santhanam as the new Head of Startup Business for India, underscoring its commitment to supporting the country's rapidly growing startup sector.

In his new role, Sriram will lead AWS’s startup strategy across India, working closely with founders and venture backed companies. His focus will be on accelerating cloud adoption, fostering innovation, and helping startups scale efficiently. He will also guide companies on best practices for product architecture, go-to-market (GTM) strategies, and building secure, scalable platforms.

Sriram brings over 25 years of B2B sales leadership experience and has spent the last four years at AWS, where he led the growth of the Independent Software Vendor (ISV) business. He managed one of the largest SaaS portfolios, supporting horizontal and vertical business models, and driving cloud transformation across sectors.

His deep expertise in SaaS, cloud innovation, and scaling digital solutions positions him well to support startups across their full lifecycle from early development to GTM expansion and long-term growth.

India’s startup ecosystem is the third largest in the world, with over 157,000 DPIIT recognized startups and more than 123 unicorns.
