Ms Apsara Iyer, a second-year Indian-American student, was appointed as the 137^th president of the Harvard Law Review.     

In the prestigious publication’s history of nearly 136 years, a second-year Indian-American student Apsara Iyer has gained the fame of the first woman from the community to be elected as the president of the prestigious Harvard Law Review. Found in 1887, the Harvard Law Review is among the oldest student-run legal scholarship publications, where Ms. Iyer will be leading as the 137th president.

Preceded by distinguished leaders including Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and former president Barack Obama, Ms. Apsara Iyer has become the first woman from the Indian-American community to be named to the position in the esteemed publication’s history of about 136 years. 

The former president of Harvard Law Review, Ms. Priscila E. Coronado, remarked that Ms. Iyer has impressed her fellow editors with her remarkable intelligence, thoughtfulness, warmth, and fierce advocacy since the early years of her life. Thus, she shared her and the publication’s elatedness to be guided by Ms. Apsara Iyer in the future. She further stated that she is highly looking forward to Ms. Apsara Iyer’s achievements, especially in Volume 137, under her excellent leadership.

She aims to appoint several editors in the reviewing process in selecting articles and upholding the publication’s reputation with a high and prescribed quality of work.
