Air India Makes History with DGCA Design Approval for Interior Upgrade
Air India has made history by getting Design Organisation Approval (DOA) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) under CAR 21. This will help the Air India to do in-house design changes and upgrades.
Air India is also collaborating with Tata Technologies to upgrade its operations through advanced digital solutions and efficient MRO services.
This makes Air India the first airline in the country with this level of certification, allowing it to make design changes and interior modifications in-house.
This special approval was handed to Air India’s CEO and MD, Campbell Wilson, by DGCA’s Director General, D.C. Sharma, in a ceremony attended by senior officials from both Air India and the DGCA.
In a move to further boost its self-reliance, Air India teamed up with Tata Technologies to enhance the interiors of its fleet under CAR 21 guidelines. With DOA in place, Air India is all set to upgrade its engineering and maintenance capabilities, aiming to keep its fleet in top shape while improving customer experiences.
Campbell Wilson said, “The collaboration with Tata Technologies will help us meet customer expectations, aligning with our broader goals of operational excellence and self-reliance”.
