Ahead Of Women's Day, Subway Opens All-Women Operated Outlet
MUMBAI: Quick service restaurant chain Subway has opened an all-women operated outlet to mark International Women's day on March 8.
With the new outlet opening in suburban Andheri, the Connecticut-based company's store count has now reached 500 in India.
"The 500th restaurant opening is a significant milestone for the Indian market. Over the years, we have witnessed a growing consumer focus towards healthier eating and Subway has been able to create a niche for itself through extensive market research and consumer outreach programmes," Subway Systems India Country Head, Manpreet Gulri, said in a statement.
Subway, which entered India in 2001, operates in 70 cities across the country and has plans to take its total number of stores to 1,000 by 2018.
It is targeting tier II, tier III cities to fuel its growth plans.
