Aeroplanes Existed in India 7,000 Years Ago: Science Congress

MUMBAI: As a part of the 102nd Indian Science Congress celebrations hosted by University of Mumbai, the country is being made aware of the great old Indian science which was much ahead of others around the world. The summit witnessed the participation of 15, 000 delegates, Nobel Laureates and children from 180 schools across the country.

Indian’s rich history in science dates back 7, 000 years before the present technology. In a paper presented on ancient Indian aviation technology by Captain Anand Bodas, a retired principal of pilot training, stated that Indian rishis had detailed understanding about making aircrafts. Bodas backed his claim by referring to the Rig Veda which had a mention about ancient aviation.

Bodas said that Maharishi Bharadwaj spoke of, “the existence of airplanes that travel from one country to another, from one continent to another and from one planet to another. He mentioned 97 reference books for aviation 7,000 years ago.” Overall Bodas’s paper on ancient aviation technology was not just a mythical tale but a total historical document with all the technicalities.

He even appealed to young scientists to make metal alloys that were mentioned in Maharishi’s book by name, ‘Vimana Samhita.’ Other papers on the symposium include, “engineering applicants of ancient science,” “neuro-science of yoga: understanding the process,” “advances in surgery in Ancient India,” and “scientific principles of Ancient Indian architecture and civil engineering.”
