Adani Group to Invest Rs 65,000 Crore in Chhattisgarh Projects

Adani Group announced a Rs 65,000 crore investment in energy and cement projects in Chhattisgarh after meeting with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The move will further strengthen the state's infrastructure and economy.
Of this, Rs 60,000 crore will go towards the group's expansion of its power plants in Raipur, Korba, and Raigarh, thus adding 6,120 MW to Chhattisgarh's power generation capacity. Adani Power, the largest private thermal power producer in India, is planning to double its overall capacity to 30.67 GW by 2029-30 from the current 15 GW.
The group has also committed to investing Rs 5,000 crore in the expansion and development of its cement units at Bhatapara and Jamul, and projects that are currently under execution at the Bhatapara unit.
Under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the conglomerate has committed Rs 10,000 crore over the next four years to support education, healthcare, skill development, and tourism in the state.
Discussions also included the possibility of collaborating in manufacturing defence equipment, establishing data centers, and setting up a global capability center in Chhattisgarh, showing the group's interest in diversified sectors.
After recent deliberations by Adani Power in exploring a Rs 20,000 crore investment for a coal-fired ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Bihar, it has announced strategic investments that reflect the group's vision to be involved in India's industrial growth and sustainability.
