In a significant move to create a skilled workforce, the Adani Group has pledged Rs 2,000 crore to establish India’s largest 'Skill and Employ' initiative in collaboration with Singapore’s ITE Education Services (ITEES). The initiative aims to develop a robust talent pipeline for industries such as green energy, manufacturing, hi-tech, project excellence, and industrial design.
This investment is part of the Rs 10,000 crore social donation recently announced by the Adani Group. Just a day prior, the company allocated Rs 6,000 crore towards the establishment of Adani Health Cities in partnership with the US-based Mayo Clinic. The initiative will focus on developing a world-class talent pool by providing cutting-edge skill training aligned with industry needs.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, took to social media platform X to share the news, stating that the company is launching the world’s largest finishing school in Mundra, Gujarat. He highlighted that the facility will integrate AI-driven immersive learning with advanced innovation centers and will train over 25,000 learners annually to accelerate the ‘Make in India’ movement. The initiative will primarily cater to fresh graduates and diploma holders from ITIs and Polytechnics, providing them with an intensive boot camp experience designed to align their skills with industry standards.
The finishing schools, under the banner of Adani Global Skills Academy, will be benchmarked to international excellence and will ensure that students are industry-ready from day one. Once certified, these graduates will be provided employment opportunities within the Adani Group as well as in broader industries, depending on their chosen field of expertise. The program aims to bridge the gap between technical education and industry requirements, ensuring a seamless transition for students into the workforce.
Robin Bhowmik, CEO of Adani Skills and Education, emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating that it aligns with the Group’s commitment to the Make-in-India movement and will play a crucial role in building high-level technical talent. He added that the collaboration with ITEES Singapore will bring in global expertise in skills education, academic quality assurance, faculty and student exchange programs, and leadership development. The partnership is expected to provide students with industry-relevant learning pathways and enhance their employability on a global scale.
Suresh Natarajan, CEO of ITEES, Singapore, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating that ITEES is pleased to partner with the Adani Group to share its expertise in skill development. He highlighted that the initiative will contribute significantly to India’s vision of Viksit Bharat by transforming education and empowering individuals with specialized training.
With a strong focus on practical learning and real-world applications, the initiative is set to revolutionize skill-based education in India, ensuring that students are equipped with the necessary expertise to thrive in their respective fields. By leveraging global partnerships and advanced training methodologies, the Adani Group aims to build a future-ready workforce capable of driving India’s industrial and economic growth.
