Adani Green Energy Activates 300 MW Wind Project in Gujarat
Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has announced the commissioning of a 126 MW wind power facility in Gujarat, completing a larger 300 MW project, of which 174 MW had been previously activated. This wind project is projected to generate approximately 1,091 million units of electricity annually, resulting in the avoidance of roughly 0.8 million tons of CO2 emissions per year.
AGEL highlights the significance of this project in solidifying its position as a leader in the market. With an extensive renewable energy portfolio totaling 9,604 MW, AGEL emphasizes its continued commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions in India. The company utilizes a sophisticated cloud-based platform called the Energy Network Operations Centre (ENOC) to effectively manage and monitor its operational assets, employing cutting-edge analytics and machine learning technologies to achieve superior performance standards.
The company underscores the crucial role of wind energy in India's energy landscape, particularly in grid balancing. When integrated with other renewable sources like solar power, wind energy contributes to enhancing grid stability. India ranks fourth globally in installed wind capacity, according to data from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Additionally, the National Institute of Wind Energy has estimated India's substantial wind power potential, particularly at 120 and 150 meters above ground level.
AGEL, a prominent player in India's renewable energy sector, boasts a significant project portfolio totalling 20,434 MW. Aligned with the Adani Group's vision of fostering a cleaner and more sustainable future for India, AGEL operates under the guiding principle of 'Growth with Goodness.' The company is actively involved in the development, construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance of utility-scale grid-connected solar and wind farm projects.
