Accenture Acquires Bengaluru-based Excelmax to Augment Silicon Design Capabilities
Global IT services giant Accenture recently announced the acquisition of Excelmax Technologies, a Bengaluru-based leading semiconductor design services provider. Although the deal remains undisclosed, this acquisition will significantly raise Accenture's capability in silicon design and engineering, enabling innovation across a wide array of industries.
Excelmax is focused on the development of custom silicon solutions at the core of what consumers need in their electronics, future data centers, artificial intelligence, and computing platforms critical for edge AI deployments. These are extended solutions in the important automotive, telecommunications, and high-tech sectors.
According to Karthik Narain, the group Chief Executive for Technology at Accenture, the buy will increase sentient competencies in silicon design, right from concept development to product scaled-up execution. Through this acquisition, he underlined, the move plainly testifies to Accenture's commitment to the empowerment of its clients by heightening innovation and growth prospects.
Founded in 2019, Excelmax boasts a team of close to 450 professionals who are skilled in emulation, automotive, physical design, analog, logic design, and verification. This team addition will further strengthen Accenture's ability to help global clients accelerate innovation at the edge.
Shekhar Patil, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Excelmax Technologies, called the joining of Accenture a glorious opportunity for opening new avenues of innovation and growth for clients and employees alike. He mentioned that Excelmax is deeply committed to providing customized solutions that can help clients sustain their competitive advantage within a fast-changing marketplace.
The industry currently faces a significant demand pressure for silicon design engineering as the rate of data center growth accelerates and the adoption of AI and edge computing technologies skyrockets. The acquisition of Excelmax by Accenture comes on the back of the company's acquisition of XtremeEDA, an Ottawa-headquartered services company specializing in silicon design engineering, in 2022.
