Laptop, Desktop and Tablets

Mobile phone manufacturers are not happy with this budget as the government levies 2pct special additional duty (SAD) on populated printed circuit boards (PCBs) used in all cellphones, laptops and desktops. This is expected to bring in a 5pct hike in mobile handset prices. Pankaj Mohindroo, President of Indian Cellular Association shares, “With the levy, the price of domestically made phones will go up by one per cent. We would request government to roll back this duty.”
