2. Goa:

Goa, India’s smallest state and the most favorite tourist destination has secured the second position in the list of the most competitive states of the country. This state is believed to be the richest state with a GDP per capita of two and a half times that of the country as a whole. It has a stable agriculture sector where rice is the main agricultural crop. Fishing industry also turns out to be a massive employment generator.

Other industries of the state consist of the manufacturing of pesticides, fertilizers, tyres, tubes, footwear, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, wheat products, and brewery products and so on. The state scores quite high on financial conditions, business incentives and institutional support. It was ranked as the best placed state by the Eleventh Finance Commission for its infrastructure and ranked on top for the best quality of life in India by the National Commission on Population.
