10 Most Expensive Foods on the Planet

Bangalore: It is not the quantity that matters when it comes to expensive food items. Interestingly the expensive food list includes coffee, vegetables, tea, milk, meat, and even fruits. This may sound different since food items that seem to be expensive like the chocolates, ice creams etc are not in the list. The list includes rare food items that are considered most expensive and most delicious.

Kopi Luwak coffee:

Our list begins with Kopi Luwak which is also called civet coffee. This coffee can cost around $230 for a single pound. The most interesting fact about this coffee is that it is not directly made of coffee berries; instead it goes through the digestive tract of a civet. Beans are gathered when civet defecates the seeds and it is then followed by thorough washing, sun drying, light roasting and brewing. We get a fragrant coffee with a much lesser bitterness after all its processes. Islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali and Sulawesi in the Indonesian Archipelago are the major areas of Kopi luwak production.
