Royal Bank of Scotland recognizes Distinct Indian Ecologists through the RBS 'Earth Heroes' Awards-2018


RBS India, an innovation and operations hub of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) announced the winners of RBS ‘Earth Heroes’ Awards for 2018, who with their sheer passion and love for the ecology have brought in a surmountable impact. The respective winners were facilitated by Honorable Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu and further to boost to continue their tireless efforts towards the betterment of the environment. The winners bagging the RBS Earth Heroes Award, 2018 are, Dr. Brij Gopal (RBS Earth Hero Award), Special Task Force, Madhya Pradesh Forest Department (RBS Earth Guardian Award), Peera Ram Bishnoi & Devender Singh Chauhan  (RBS Save The Species Award), Rita Banerji & Abhilash Khandekar (RBS Inspire Award) and Lalit Kumar Bora (RBS Green Warrior Award) who were recognized for their amazing feat of going beyond their call of duty to save the planet’s ecological assets.

Honorable Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu, says, “I congratulate The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) for having instituted these novel awards which identify and honour outstanding individuals and institutions that have made significant contribution to protect and conserve the valuable resources of our planet”.

The RBS Foundation India was founded in 2007 and has been strengthening communities, improving livelihoods and promoting conservation in over 1100 villages. The Foundation’s 22 projects, across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha, West Bengal, Uttrakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttar Pradesh benefitted a whooping 124,475 families across them.

The RBS Earth Heroes Awards’ journey has been humbling and inspirational, as it allows RBS an opportunity to honour entities and individuals for their relentless work in conservation and sustainability.  RBS Earth Hero Awards were institutionalised in 2011 to provide a national platform to those individuals and institutions that have espoused and undertaken actions to protect the endangered forest. The winners were selected by an independent highly reputed nine-member jury from over 60 nominations across the country.
